Mel Stephenson
As a BACP accredited practitioner, I specialise in working with children and young people and hold the position of Clinical Mental Health Lead in a large all-through school in North London, alongside my supervision, training and consultancy practice.
I have a masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy and a further diploma in Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychotherapy and Counselling Supervision.
As a Wellbeing in Education specialist, I work with many schools, trusts, local authorities and private organisations who wish to expand or embed existing or new mental health and wellbeing services; this consultancy role fits well alongside the clinical supervision I so love to do.
I offer supervision to a wide range of professionals including school-based DSL/DDSL’s and mentors as well as counsellors and psychotherapists in a variety of fields. This individual work or group facilitation is a real passion of mine and complements the work I continue to do myself as Clinical Lead, with children, adolescents and families.
I have a specific research interest in ACES (adverse childhood experiences), toxic stress and trauma, in particular the effects of this on the body and long-term health and wellbeing outcomes.

You can find me on the BACP directory
I am also a Bupa recognised mental health therapist.
